On August 20, 2024, 60-year-old Denise Prudhomme, an employee at an Arizona Wells Fargo, was found dead in her cubicle on the 3rd floor of the building. She clocked in 4 days earlier and died without anyone knowing. Though multiple people complained about a foul odor, they assumed it was due to plumbing issues. Since the initial report, many have been questioning how not even the cleaning team or security found the body earlier. It has been said that the third floor where she was found is very isolated and rarely used. In a statement, a Wells Fargo spokesperson said:
“The tragic loss of our colleague at our Tempe office deeply saddens us. Our thoughts and prayers are with their family and loved ones during this difficult time. Through our employee assistance consulting service, counselors are available to support our employees. We fully cooperate with the Tempe Police Department in their investigation and will direct all further questions to them.”
The Tempe Police Criminal Investigations Bureau is working with the medical examiner to determine the cause of death, but contrary to what most people may think, there was no suspicion of a potential foul play at the time of the discovery.
